Bon Secours Hospital
Customer: Bon Secours Hospital Whilst undergoing major redevelopment work, Ciaran Murray, Project Manager at
Working closely with the hospital, Portakabin Allspace supplied a two-storey Ultima building to house offices, stores and laboratories. Offering 572m² of floor space, the building incorporates a platform lift to meet disability access regulations. It too was carefully configured by the hospital to fit into a restricted site between existing buildings. Both new buildings are connected to the main hospital by link corridors. The close proximity of the modular buildings to the main hospital meant that their fire rating had to be increased, and Portakabin Allspace manufactured the buildings to meet this strict requirement. The buildings were delivered to site by Portakabin Allspace on the agreed date and expertly installed by the on-site team. The installation process was very fast, minimising disruption to the hospital's daily operations. The interim building was completed in three days and the permanent building in just two. Portakabin Allspace provided the buildings complete with partition walls and fire alarms, ready to be fully fitted out by the hospital.
Ciaran continues: “While working with Portakabin Allspace, we realised that the company could also fulfil our requirement for a brand new permanent building to house a laboratory, stores and administrative offices. We opted for a modular building solution at the time because of the efficiency and speed of the construction process, since the timescales for this building were very demanding.”
