With visitor numbers increasing fast at Fota Wildlife Park, the award-winning tourist attraction needed to provide additional toilet facilities during the busy spring and summer seasons. As Cork's most visited tourist attraction – providing a unique wildlife experience – the park needed to source a high standard of toilets that would live up to visitors' high expectations of such a prestigious attraction.

Tony O'Dwyer, Operations Manager at Fota Wildlife Park, says: “Having looked around for potential toilet suppliers we chose to hire the facilities we needed from Portakabin Allspace. They are based locally, so we were assured of a responsive service, and the quality of the Portaloo buildings they offered met the high standards we were looking for.”

Portakabin Allspace provided a female-only toilet block and a specially designed baby-changing unit to the park. The facilities were in place from March to September, when visitor numbers were at their highest.

The market-leading Portaloo toilet buildings are fully fitted out with domestic-standard toilets and washbasins, with hot and cold running water. The interiors are bright, clean and well-ventilated, making them easy to maintain and providing a pleasant, hygienic environment for visitors.

The two buildings hired by Fota Wildlife Park were delivered on the agreed date by Portakabin Allspace and carefully installed into a tricky location, which required the buildings to be craned over a gate. The installation was carefully and efficiently managed by Portakabin Allspace, and the buildings were promptly connected to services, ready for visitors to use.

Portakabin Allspace has a Customer Charter which promises that all buildings will be delivered on time and on budget. It even promises that if the company ever fails to deliver on time, it will provide a week's free hire for every day it is late.*

Tony continues: “We know that when people come to a major attraction like ours, they expect a certain standard of toilet amenities – and they are very quick to complain if anything is not up to scratch. I'm delighted to say that we have not had a single complaint about the Portaloo buildings, which means they are clearly providing the quality of facilities our visitors expect.

“The service from Portakabin Allspace was very good and everything was ready on time. The toilets coped well with the high visitor numbers we experienced over the summer. They are such high quality buildings that we didn't need to call Portakabin Allspace out once for any repairs or maintenance over the six-month hire period. I expect we'll be using them again every year for the foreseeable future.”
