How long can I hire a building for?
You can hire a building from us for any length of time – to suit your circumstances. Our team will be happy to advise you on the options available, giving you complete flexibility.
How many people can your buildings accommodate?
Our range of buildings can be configured to accommodate from one person to more than 1,000, depending on the type of building required. Our team will advise you on the most suitable type and size of building for your needs.
Do your buildings comply with Building Regulations?
Yes. For complete quality assurance, the Portakabin buildings we offer are independently approved to conform to relevant Building Regulations, The Building Standards (Scotland) and other permanent building regulations.*
Will I need planning permission?
Please consult with your local planning authority or county council regarding planning permission. For most short to medium term hires on single relocatable buildings, planning permission is not required.
What is the standard building specification?
Buildings from Portakabin Allspace can be designed to suit your requirements. We can advise you on the best interior layout and on optional features such as climate control systems, furniture, floor coverings and sanitary facilities.
What preparations do I need to make before delivery?
Access to the site needs to be kept clear of obstructions, allowing enough space for the vehicle delivering the building. Suitable foundations or a level hard-standing area must be available to accommodate the building. We will advise you on these matters during a site inspection.
What type of foundations will my building require?
This depends on the surface the building will be standing on, and the type of building. Relocatable buildings that will be sited on hard standing may only require shims. For other surfaces or for modular buildings, only pad foundations may be necessary. The foundations required will depend on site conditions, building weight and floor loads, so we will always advise you on your specific foundation requirements.
How are your buildings delivered?
We will arrange the delivery of your building. Our modular and relocatable buildings are transported by road on a flat-bed lorry or trailer platform and positioned with a lorry-mounted or standard crane. Modular buildings are then mechanically positioned using lifting eyes.
How do I connect the building to electricity, telephone and data cables?
Electrical installations in Portakabin buildings are designed and installed as permanent installations. A qualified electrician must connect the consumer unit to a mains supply. We advise you to contact your communications systems provider to arrange connection to telephone and computer systems.
What happens if I have a problem with my building?
